Since session 7 Kyo has spent his time in the sedanei village. Altho he (accidentally) killed their leader the sedanei had tolerated him this far; after all, he DID get rid of the monstrous ape-men. As time went by it became evident that his Demon Sword was of a corrupting sort; in the nights it would torment him with dreams of violence, death and decay. Before Kyo could actually do anything about this it was too late. The sword had eaten away a lot of his sanity. He became delusional and aggressive, not being able to distinquish between his dreams and reality. His eyes, bloodshot, could not see colors any more, only shades of gray. Alcohol was his, only partially working, remedy for this nightmare. But a shadow of a man he became, and in time people started to steer away from him. Thus, after staying half-year, it was time for Kyo to move on as he certainly overstayed his welcome ...
During that time Cadoc had been adventuring in other places. From some exotic or rather treasurehunterish place he found/purchased/traded/extorted A MAP, yet again. The map revealed a stash of relics, VALUABLE ancient holy items of SACRED KICKASS POWAH, hidden in "The Monastery of Saint Moyra". This monastery was actually The Monastery near Darak, introduced during Session 1. Thus Cadoc took an escorting job in a caravan which would stop by a "caravan sortie point" (Safehaven). From that place he would take a caravan to Darak and to The Monastery and then ...

Kyo and Cadoc, after various hijinks and some brawling by the latter, join a caravan lead by Ossi. They depart from Safehaven. Their destination is monastery of Saint Moyra, which a map owned by Cadoc revealed to contain treasure. Along the way they encountered few parties of sedanei, all but the first of which avoided the caravan.
In the territory somewhat controlled by Narwikian lords and ladies, three horses tethered before a mill from which strange sounds issue. Kyo marches in, finding savaged bodies of sedanei looters. Further examination revealed some beast, dog-shaped, possibly feasting upon a dead child. Kyo attacks and wounds it, but the roof, as if by random happenstance, gives in, forcing Kyo to leave the place. This is not helped by Cadoc closing the door behind him, but not much hindered, either. The few surviving members of the miller's family emerge from the ruins, as does Wilverei, the protector spirit of millers, dog-like when appearing. It keeps following the caravan, once taking a close look and sniff on Kyo, recoiling.
It is night and the caravan is near the monastery of Saint Moyra. Kyo, Cadoc and Ossi sneak in through a hidden passage, as do a number of Ossi's men. Inside three presitigious monastery-dwellers, one an abbedissa, try banishing the demon to netherworld of some unkind nature, but their crosses melt in the hands, Kyo taking the aspect of a demon of death. Looting commences, relics are found, Kyo severs the arm of one man who served Ossi to replace the one he had lost long ago, using the hand of Moyra, one of the more valuable relics of that particular monastery, in the process. Ossi attacks with a lance, sanctified to Moyra due to her slaying a champion of an undead army with it, but fails to have an effect.
Ossi, Cadoc and the rest wisely abandon their looting. Kyo is discovered by the monasteryfolk, but they are no match for his unholy might. All but sister Victoria crumble to ground, their nose and ears and eyes and mouth bleeding as Kyo leaves them. Saved by the sister they were, mercy by association, and a glimmer of humanity within Kyo revealed.
